<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and inspection device capable of nondestructively, simply and quickly determining a targeted pearl or pearl shell. <P>SOLUTION: The method and inspection device nondestructively determines pearl quality by measuring a reflection spectrum of a visible region from an ultraviolet region of a pearl or pearl shell as a body to be inspected and/or a fluorescence spectrum of the visible region from the ultraviolet region, and comparing the obtained values with the value of a normal pearl or pearl shell measured in advance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
