<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel door having upgraded heat insulation performance by inhibiting heat conduction through a steel bone member and steel front/back surface plates of the steel door. <P>SOLUTION: As heat conduction inhibiting measures, bone member components 111 are formed by halving a steel bone member 11 in a depth direction and fixing pieces 113 are superimposed on the bone member components 111 respectively, and a heat insulating layer 115 is nipped by the fixing pieces 113 of the bone member components 111 and a gap is defined between bent depth pieces 121 of steel front/back surface plates 12 for covering the bone member 11. The heat insulating layer 115 is made by, for example, a fire resistant fiber sheet of inorganic fire-resistant ceramic fiber. The fixing piece 113 is superimposed with the fire resistant fiber sheet being disposed and fixed using a fixing bracket 116 such as a screw.
