878,587. Laminating. ALKETT MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. Sept. 1, 1959, No. 29861/59 Class 140. [Also in Group V] A thermoplastic sheet 12 is moulded, e.g. to form a pattern by sucking it against a linen sheet 14 or to form capsules by sucking it into mould cavities, by heating it at 15 and applying suction through holes 2 to force. it against the moulding drum 1. The holes which are not closed by the sheet are closed by a resilient layer 10 of rubber or resin which is pressed against the drum by an inner drum 9. The drum 1 is rotated by the guide roller 18. The sheet is cooled at 17. In modification, Fig. 3, the position of the inner drum 9<SP>1</SP> may be adjusted by an eccentric mounting 20, and suction may be applied through a hollow shaft 23 and holes 22. In a modification a plastic sheet may be cemented on to a sheet of paper or fabric, or paper to fabric. Specification 610,821 is referred to.
