PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic detection device accurately detecting a moving direction of a magnetic moving body without any delay. SOLUTION: The magnetic detection device includes a signal processing circuit including comparison circuits 21, 22 outputting rectangular wave signals e, f by comparing output signals a, b of a magnetoelectric transducer detecting strength of a magnetic field with thresholds c, d and a signal processing unit detecting the moving position and direction of the magnetic moving body by the output of the comparison circuits. In the magnetic detection device, for output i of the signal processing circuit, time width at a high level or a low level depending on the moving direction of the magnetic moving body is fixed to a period t1 or t2. When the moving direction of the magnetic moving body is changed within time of the period t1 or t2, the signal comparison circuit outputs the same position signal as the position signal indicating a position of the magnetic moving body immediately before changing the moving direction of the magnetic moving body by allowing the threshold of the comparison circuit to have hysteresis.
