BEAMFORMING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MULTI-ANTENNA SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A beam forming device for a multiple antenna system and method thereof are provided to perform an RF beam forming by using one A/D converter. CONSTITUTION: A frequency down converter(300) down-converts a received signal from a signal combiner to a baseband signal. An A/D converter(400) changes a baseband signal from the frequency down converter into a digital signal. An RF beam forming controller(500) uses the digital signal from the A/D converter to determine a peak signal-to-noise ratio among a plurality of signal-noise ratio corresponding to a plurality of phase weighting vectors. The RF beam forming controller controls beam forming of a phase shifter by using the peak signal-to-noise ratio.
