PURPOSE: A semiconductor device and a data processing system are provided to implement the expandability and convenience in configuring a system by using a second operation mode as one of normal modes. CONSTITUTION: In a semiconductor device and a data processing system, a semiconductor device(100) comprises serial ports(150-1 - 15-4) and an input circuit. The input circuit generates operation control information. The input circuit comprises a first operation mode and a second operation mode. A first operation mode generates operation control information at a first cycle. A second operation mode generates operation control information at a second cycle.
