PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radical polymerizable oligomer capable of efficient living radical polymerization of a radical polymerizable unsaturated monomer, and a method for producing the oligomer. SOLUTION: This radical polymerizable oligomer includes a chemical structure represented by structural formula: Y-(-CH<SB>2</SB>-CHX-)<SB>p</SB>-Z in a molecule, wherein p is an integer of 1-200, X is a chemical structure represented by nitrile, phenyl and its derivative, pyrrolidone, acrylic acid or acrylamide, Y is a free radical of a polymerization initiator, and Z is a free radical of anα-methylstyrene dimer.
