<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver and a reception method capable of receiving signals, even if the signals are transmitted one by one by different modulation mode, and provide a processing apparatus used at the receiver. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The receiver, the reception method or the processing apparatus changes gain according to a signal level, and receives radio signals transmitted from a transmitter. A modulation mode of radio signal is distinguished, and a delay time for response of gain to the signal level is changed in response to the distinguished modulation mode.
