SOLUTION: A feature point detector 1 for detecting an object and a plurality of feature points belonging to the object from an image is provided with: an acquisition part 9 for acquiring a joint probability density function p(x1to xN) at positions of N-pieces of feature points in the object; and a search region setting part 4 for calculating a conditional probability density function p(xk¾x1to xk-1) on the basis of positions of k-1 feature point where detection processing has already been performed out of the N-pieces of feature points to set a search region where the detection processing of the feature point (k) is performed by using the conditional probability density function.
