<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for manufacturing a blade. <P>SOLUTION: The system includes a mold, a plurality of first plies each sized to extend substantially the length of a span 218 of the blade 200, and a plurality of second plies each sized to extend only partially the length of the span of the blade. The plurality of first plies and the plurality of second plies are both layered in the mold so that the plurality of second plies are interspersed throughout the plurality of first plies to spread apart the plurality of first plies to facilitate increasing a cross-sectional area of the blade. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
