PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester container enabling gas barrier property to be remarkably improved by forming a deposition film on the inner face and/or the outer face of a container wall. SOLUTION: In the polyester container having a container wall consisting of a polyester resin and the deposition film formed at the inner face and/or the outer face of the container wall by a plasma CVD method, the deposition film shows hydrocarbon-based peaks derived from CH, CH<SB>2</SB>, and CH<SB>3</SB>in an area having a wavenumber of 3,200-2,600 cm<SP>-1</SP>by FT-IR measurement. CH<SB>2</SB>ratio and CH<SB>3</SB>ratio per total of CH, CH<SB>2</SB>, and CH<SB>3</SB>calculated from these hydrocarbon-based peaks are not more than 35% and not less than 40%, respectively.
