<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: because all persons included in photographic images are targets when determining the number of prints, there is possibility that the number of persons not needed for distribution in some cases is counted among the number of prints, for example, even when an accidentally passing person has been in an image. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The sorting system includes a means for extracting a person from the image recording a photographic subject; and a database storing face image information and personal information corresponding thereto. In the sorting system, a characteristic of the extracted person is extracted and is compared with the face image information stored in the database to specify the person, and each recorded image is classified to the predetermined person to determine the number of output prints of each recorded image.
