PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a characteristic value generation circuit capable of generating the variation of performances by the predicted individual difference of the imaging apparatus and capable of easily evaluating a variation correction processing result, and to provide an imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: A variation generation circuit 30 includes: a command reception part 31 for acquiring characteristic value data S40; a characteristic value generation part 33 for referring to the characteristic value data S40 and generating a correctable limit characteristic value for input image data S20; and an adder 34 for adding the characteristic limit value S33 generated by the characteristic value generation part 33 and the input image data S20.
