PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear squeak preventive device of a manual transmission capable of alleviating an operation load when returning a shift lever to a neutral position from a reverse position. SOLUTION: When the shift lever moves along an anti-neutral side limit position of a select direction movable range to the reverse position from a reverse select position, while a pre-balk member pressing lever 131 operates a synchro-mesh mechanism by press-moving a pre-balk pin 132, when the shift lever moves along a neutral side limit position of the select direction movable range to the reverse select position from the reverse position, the neutral side limit position and the anti-neutral side limit position are set so that the pre-balk member pressing lever 131 does not press the pre-balk pin 132.
