PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front structure of the car body of an automobile that is efficient in turning front wheels by making a steering rack mechanism retreat on a collision, steering the front wheels so as to make their rear part face outward, securing a crash space of the front part of the car body, and particularly by directly pressing a member which steers the front wheels on a collision. SOLUTION: The steering rack mechanism 21 is mounted on a sub-frame 16. The outer end pivot point 26 of a tie rod 22 connected to the steering rack mechanism 21 is set at the front side from the steering center of the front wheels 25.
