Small generator with collective multiple magnetic poles

A wheel hub generator for a bicycle comprises a laminated pole structure 20 carrying sheet windings 40 mounted on an axle 60, bearings 13 rotatingly mounting the hub member 10 which carries magnet 14. Connections from the coils 40 are brought out to a terminal assembly 50. The windings which may be printed circuits comprise sleeves which are slipped over the respective poles. Alternatively the coil/core assembly may rotate, the pole teeth being directed inwardly and the magnet is secured to the stationary axle. Circlips 113 secure the core within the rotating hub 11.
