A polishing pad for magnetic recording media is provided to improve the polishing performance and reduce scratch effectively since recesses are formed on the surface and/or backside so that polishing fluid and particles flow and disperse smooth in the textured processing. A polishing pad(1) for magnetic recording media comprises a textile material including ultrafine fibers and polymer elastomer impregnated in the textile material. Recesses(2,2') are formed on the surface and/or backside, where the recess formed on the surface and the recess formed on the backside are at least partly connected with each other. The textile material is selected one among fabric, textile and non-woven.
