PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for generating an image which suppresses deterioration of processing precision even when a texture characteristic is changed in an object, and to provide its method, a posture recognizing device, its method, an object tracking device, and its method. SOLUTION: A posture characteristic extracting part 30 performs the singular value decomposition of a matrix, with feature vectors of each image data in the K postures of M kinds of objects as elements, into the form of product of USV<SP>T</SP>, calculates a k-th posture characteristic vector P<SB>k</SB>expressing the characteristic of the k-th posture concerning whole k being not less than 1 and not more than K, and stores it in a posture characteristic vector group storage part 60. A posture change image generating part 40 estimates a texture state vector v expressing the texture characteristic of the object, based on the feature vector A<SB>i</SB>of the i-th posture of the object and the i-th posture characteristic vector P<SB>i</SB>in the posture characteristic vector group storage part 60, and estimates the feature vector of the j-th posture of the object, based on the texture state vector v and the j-th posture characteristic vector P<SB>j</SB>in response to the specification of the posture j.
