<p>A fuel economiser for a vehicle consists of a solenoid valve (1) which replaces the slow running fuel regulator. The fuel mixture duct (2) supplies fuel to the engine during slow running. The equipment uses a battery (3). The ignition system contact (4) is in series with the switch (6) fitted under the accelerator pedal. a hand switch (7) is followed by a switch (8) actuated from the engine revolution counter. When all the switches are closed, the fuel to the slow running jet is cut off. This occurs when the engine is over run by the car. A similar cutout switch may be placed under the clutch pedal.</p> |
