The patent application relates to a toothpaste dispenser. A shoe is arranged movably on an appliance frame for receiving the brush part of a toothbrush. Provided above the shoe is a closure which can be opened when the toothbrush is displaced. The closure has a screwing-in thread for screwing in the closure thread of a paste tube. The shoe is coupled to the closure in such a way that the closure opens only during the return stroke of the shoe. It is achieved in this way that the strip of toothpaste emerging from the closure is placed cleanly on the toothbrush only during the return stroke, i.e. when said toothbrush is withdrawn. Using a dispenser of this type, other pastes or preparations of appropriate viscosity could also be delivered. Figure 1 shows an exemplary embodiment in a partially cutaway front view. <IMAGE>
