PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas hydrate production apparatus wherein the water separation screen of a water separation section has holes with a diameter variable to cope with operation conditions. SOLUTION: The apparatus is one for producing a low water content gas hydrate by reacting a raw material gas with water to generate a gas hydrate and separating water from a gas hydrate slurry s being a mixture of the gas hydrate and water by means of a dehydrator 12, wherein the water separation section 19 of the dehydrator 12 is provided with arbitrarily shaped (e.g., slit-shaped or rhombic) first openings 25, and a water separation controlling outer cylinder 24 having second openings 26 opposite to the first openings 25 is fitted into the outside of the water separator, and the degree of opening of the first openings 25 is changed according to the displacement of the water separation controlling outer cylinder 24.
