PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a germicidal composition which has no adverse effects on a human body. SOLUTION: The germicidal composition capable of killing Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), Escherichia coli (E. coli), methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), propionibacterium (P. acnes) comprises a solvent and an L-ascorbic acid solution. The L-ascorbic acid solution can be dissolved in the solvent within a range of 1-40 wt.%. The ascorbic acid (i.e. vitamin C) is water soluble, and essential to human beings, and does not harm the human body. The ascorbic acid is degraded in the inside of the body and excreted to the outside of the body even if a person has inhaled the ascorbic acid after the application of the germicidal agent.
