FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: oxidation catalyst of ethylene in ethylene oxide is described, free from rhenium and transition metal, which is solid silver and containing the combination of promoters consisting of (1) alkaline metals in quantity 400-1500 ppm by weight of the catalyst, (2) barium in the quantity 5-500 ppm by the weight of the catalyst and (3) sulfur in the quantity 5-300 ppm by the weight of the catalyst.
