<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head which can improve ball striking sounds along with the heightening of other performances. <P>SOLUTION: The golf club head 2 has a face part 4, a crown part 6, a sole part 8 and a recessed part 10. The recessed part 10 is disposed surrounding the sole part 8. The maximum height Hm of the recessed part 10 is 10 mm or more. The area S1 of the projection of the sole part 8 made on a reference plane is 40% or more to 65% or less of the area S2 of the projection of the crown part 6 made on the reference plane. The head 2 is hollow. Preferably, the maximum angleθm of the rim F1 of the recessed part 10 with the sole edge E1 closer to it is 45°or more, the radius of curvature in the toe-to-heel direction of the sole plane is 9.0 cm or more to 11.5 cm or less and the volume of the head 2 is 400 cc or more to 500 cc or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
