COGNITIVE RADIO BASED AIR INTERFACE METHOD IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A CR(Cognitive Radio)-based mobile communication system and a mobile communication radio access method are provided to adaptively use an overlay transmission method or an underlay transmission method according to radio environments, thereby increasing system capacities as offering seamless services. A base station system and a mobile station system communicate with each other by using an overlay method employing spectrum holes(S801). If a paid-in user having high priority performs communication by using the spectrum holes, the base station system and the mobile station system convert the overlay method into an underlay method to perform communication(S802-S806). If a new spectrum hole is assigned to the mobile station system, the base station system and the mobile station system convert the underlay method into the overlay method to perform communication(S809,S811).
