An RF repeater and a control method for ensuring the isolation thereof are provided to always ensure a stable isolation value by monitoring a change in the isolation between a donor antenna and a service antenna and adjusting their locations. An RF repeater comprises an RF module(22), an uplink power detector(86), an antenna location change unit(10), and a control unit(98). The RF module has a downlink relay circuit and an uplink relay circuit. The downlink relay circuit processes a downlink RF signal, received through a donor antenna(24) from a base station, and relays it to a wireless communication terminal through a service antenna(26). The uplink relay circuit processes an uplink RF signal, received through the service antenna from the wireless communication terminal, and relays it to the base station. The uplink power detector detects a noise level for the uplink relay circuit. The antenna location change unit modifies the location of either the donor antenna or the service antenna. In case the detected noise level exceeds a preset level value, the control unit judges that the isolation has been changed. In this case, the control unit controls the antenna location change unit to modify the location of either the donor antenna or the service antenna and to secure a target isolation.
