PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that mechanical positioning of a headlight tester and a headlight of a vehicle to be inspected takes time and troubles as it has been conventionally done by an inspector. SOLUTION: A head lamp center detector is constituted of a storage part for storing shape information of a headlight of one or more reference vehicles and a head lamp center on the shape information corresponding to a reference point of the headlight of the reference vehicle as a pair, a camera for detecting the shape information of the headlight of a vehicle to be inspected, and a means for detecting information which coincides with or is similar to the shape information of the headlight of the vehicle to be inspected detected by the camera among the shape information of the headlight of the reference vehicle stored in the storage part and setting the head lamp center of the vehicle to be inspected to be equal to the head lamp center stored as a pair of the shape information of the headlight of the reference vehicle which coincides or is similar.
