A limestone furnace is provided to maintain the heating temperature constantly by detecting the temperature of the furnace, produce highly pure calcium oxide by directly heating limestone flowing along a transferring passage and prevent the environment contamination by supplying cooling air for cooling sintered calcium oxide to a combustion chamber and a pre-heating chamber. A limestone furnace comprises a main body portion(100) where a main body(110) having a combustion chamber(111) penetrating through the inner center from the upper side to the lower side is formed; a sintering portion(200) which has a transferring passage(210), which allows input limestone be sintered with an inclination portion while flowing and includes an inlet(211), an outlet(212), and a discharge rotary, a pre-heating chamber(230) pre-heating the limestone inputted at the upper part of the transferring passage, a cooling chamber(220) cooling the sintered calcium oxide at the lower part of the transferring passage, a pipe protruded from the transferring passage through the outside of the main body, a checking globe(213), and a pressure rod making the flow of the limestone smooth; a heating portion(300) which has a plurality of combustion burner(310) formed at the outside of the main body to heat the combustion chamber, thereby heating the transferring passage of the sintering portion; a temperature detecting portion which has a thermometer(410) formed at the outside of the main body to measure the temperature of the combustion chamber; and an air transferring portion which has a duct, the lower end portion combined with the cooling chamber and the upper end portion combined with the pre-heating chamber, and a burnt air inlet pipe protruded from the duct and inserted into the combustion chamber.
