A method of controlling operation clock frequency of a hard disk drive, a recording medium, and a hard disk drive are provided to regulate operation clock frequency of a hard disk drive according to operation environment of the hard disk drive by analyzing a command workload and changing the operation clock frequency based on the result. A method of controlling operation clock frequency of a hard disk drive comprises: analyzing a command workload; and changing the operation clock frequency of the hard disk drive on the basis of the result(S172,S171,S161). The step of changing the operation clock frequency of the hard disk drive includes: setting a mode of the hard disk drive based on the analyzing result; and changing prior operation clock frequency to predetermined operation clock frequency corresponding to the present set mode if the present mode is different from the prior mode(S180).
