PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proper manufacturing method for a plasma display panel which achieves excellent display characteristics. SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for the PDP includes a primary material filling step for filling a primary dielectric paste 331A which is used for forming a bulky dielectric layer inside a concave portion 41 of a molding block 4, a secondary material coating step for coating a secondary dielectric paste 33A which is used for forming a dielectric layer on a front-side substrate 3, a transcription step for separating the molding block 4 from the front-side substrate 3 by pressing down the molding block 4 against the secondary dielectric paste 33A, and a calcining step. The molding block 4 is pressed down against the fluent secondary dielectric paste 33A in the transcription step, thereby allowing the primary dielectric paste 331A and secondary dielectric paste 33A to be assuredly bonded. This ensures that the bulky dielectric layer is formed in the favorable shape, and that the dielectric layer is formed uniformly with a fixed film thickness. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
