<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification threshold value determining method of an optical receiver, which determines the optimum identification threshold value even when signal quality deterioration takes place in an optical transmission line. <P>SOLUTION: The identification threshold value determining method includes steps of: (S1, S21) setting any threshold value existing in a settable threshold value range in the optical receiver 100 as a first threshold value (e.g. a median threshold value); (S2, S22) obtaining a first BER with respect to the first threshold value; (S3, S23) setting a second threshold value resulting from changing the first threshold value by a prescribed threshold value width; (S4, S24) obtaining a second BER with respect to the second threshold value; (S6, S26 or the like) determining first and second points on the basis of magnitude relation among the first BER, the second BER, and an initial threshold value determining BER; and (S43) determining a threshold value equivalent to a cross point between a first straight line passing through the first point and a second straight line passing through the second point as an identification threshold value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
