<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a timing of replacing a process cartridge, then, to suppress labor costs, and also, to eliminate the wasteful replacement of the cartridge and to reduce the total cost. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of process units 10 as process cartridges are attachably/detachably loaded to an image forming apparatus, and the process cartridges are not mutually interchangeable as a whole, a lubricant apply apparatus 106 for the aforesaid process unit 10 as the process cartridge and a lubricant apply apparatus 152 for an intermediate transfer belt 108 have the same constitution, consequently, the lubricant apply apparatus 106 and the lubricant apply apparatus 152 are interchangeable between the process cartridges, that is, between the process units, and also, between the process unit 10 and the intermediate transfer belt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
