PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the portable telephone set whose operability of inputting the Roman alphabet in Japanese and Chinese and the Pin-Yin is improved and whose operability of inputting the alphabetic characters of the Roman alphabet and the Pin-Yin is improved. SOLUTION: The alphabetic character buttons of the Roman alphabet and the Pin-Yin also serving as numeric buttons of the portable telephone set are arranged in one line. The adjacent alphabetic characters in spelling of one pronunciation of the Roman alphabet and the Pin-Yin are not assigned to one alphabetic character button.
