Transalkylation of alkyl aromatic hydrocarbon groups (I) having 9 carbon atoms by molecule, comprises introduction of (I) into a first reactive zone (Ia) to be in contact with a first zeolitic catalyst (IIa); introduction of a part of the product or the groups containing benzene and/or toluene into a second reactive zone (Ib) containing a second zeolitic catalyst (IIb); and separation of the part of the product.
