PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display which can be stored easily in various types of equipment. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 10 has a stack body, constituted by arranging a 1st liquid crystal panel 15 on one surface side of a light guide plate 11 for guiding light out to both top and reverse surfaces and a 2nd liquid crystal display panel 30 smaller than the 1st liquid crystal display panel 15 on the other surface side. The surface, where the 2nd liquid crystal display panel 30 is mounted, is covered with a metallic cover 40 having a flat surface, supported almost the same height in level with a display surface 30b of the 2nd liquid crystal display panel 30, with the cover 40 covers a circuit board 20 arranged at the periphery of the 2nd liquid crystal display panel 30, and the display surface 30b of the 2nd liquid crystal panel 30 is exposed in an opening 42 bored in the cover 40.
