PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fan unit, and a control method capable of sufficiently reducing temperature differences of an upper space of an underfloor space while lowering the level of discomfort of people passing a vicinity. SOLUTION: The fan unit Ua is installed in a first underfloor space B1a to carry out circulation of the upper space of the underfloor space B in a floor structure having a predetermined space in the underfloor space B, and it is provided with a blowout part 11a or the like, a detection part 12a or the like, and a control part 14a or the like. The first underfloor space B1a or the like is a part of the underfloor space B. The blowout part 11a or the like blows out air to an upper space A1a or the like of the first underfloor space B1a or the like. The detection part 12a or the like detects approach information. The approach information is information indicating that a person is approaching the upper space A1a or the like of the first underfloor space B1a or the like.
