PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric wheelchair having a small-size, lightweight and simple structure, having superior getting-on/off property, having stability and superior riding comfort when getting on/off and traveling, saving a power, manufactured at a low cost and having a high freedom degree in design. SOLUTION: The axle (an electric motor 11) of front wheels 9 is disposed in the front end lower part of a chair part 2 (a seat part 3), a suspension stroke of a suspension device 60 of a rear wheel 10 is so set as to be changeable into a getting-on/off position 2b where the rear part of the chair part 2 tilted forward by being pushed upward at the chair part 2, when the suspension device 60 is extended to the maximum.
