PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent cling to a shaft caused by expansion of a bearing in an approximately cylindrical sliding bearing in which its inner peripheral surface and end surface become bearing surfaces. SOLUTION: In the approximately cylindrical sliding bearing 10, a slit 26 dividing a cylindrical portion of the bearing circumferentially is cut. A gap of the slit 26 can absorb the expansion of the sliding bearing, and the bearing is restrained from its expansion toward the inside of the bearing.
