<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing state detector which can simply detect printing failures due to a positional deviation or the like of a printing object in a printer, and to provide its method. <P>SOLUTION: The printing state detector detects light obtained from a mark 18 for printing state detection to light illuminated from the mark 18 which consists of a printing part 34 and a non printing part 36, by a first sensor 26 and a second sensor 28. A printing state is detected from a first comparison result of the comparison between a first detected quantity of light detected by the first sensor 26 and a first threshold, and a second comparison result of the comparison between a second detected quantity of light detected by the second sensor 28 and a second threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
