<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a lithium secondary battery and the lithium secondary battery which are superior in short-time output characteristics at low temperatures in a simple and inexpensive way while maintaining a high energy density. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode for the lithium secondary battery is the electrode for the lithium battery having an active material capable of storing or releasing Li ions, at least one kind of material having an electric double layer capacitance or a pseudo-electric double layer capacitance in which a sudden discharge potential descent of the active material at the low temperatures is enabled to suppress, at least one kind of conductive agent, and at least one kind of water soluble organic compound, and a material having the electric double layer capacitance or a pseudo-electric double layer capacitance has an acidic surface functional group. The lithium secondary battery is the battery using this electrode as the positive electrode. With this electrode for the lithium secondary battery, the lithium secondary battery is obtained in which the short-time output at the low temperatures is improved and in which an environmental load is less in manufacturing, and which is inexpensive. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
