A solution useful as a corrosion inhibitor, cleaning agent, anti-scaling age nt and as an inhibitor of sulfur reducing bacteria is disclosed. This solution consists o f an aqueous solution of anolyte with or without the addition of a catholyte. The resulti ng solution has improved cleaning and de-watering properties making it useful in a varie ty of industrial applications.
