An apparatus for preventing a peep is provided to allow a user to see an image within the range of a viewing angle and not to see the image out of the range thereof. A liquid crystal layer(204) is located at one surface of a transparent substrate(202). The liquid crystal layer has predetermined thickness(W) and an absorption axis. A range of a viewing angle is controlled by the predetermined thickness. The absorption axis is substantially parallel with the transparent substrate and vertical to an extended direction of the range of the viewing angle. The predetermined thickness is in a range of 4 micrometers to 20 micrometers and the viewing angle is in a range of 40 degrees to 90 degrees.
