PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic photographing apparatus in which a full-length picture and the other pictures are taken at a low cost, labor for setting a camera status is saved and further, an appropriate picture corresponding to the number of users who become an object, is taken. SOLUTION: A longitudinally long source photographic image of a user is acquired by a digital camera 20 and on the basis of said longitudinally long source photographic image, a longitudinally long image or a laterally long photographic image is outputted. Before taking a picture, the length of the user is acquired, and the digital camera 20 is moved to a photographing position or a photographing direction based on its value to take the picture of the user.
