PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To wind and fasten a cloth from the surface side with the ribs extended and with the cloth unfolded and from the rear side with the ribs folded and the with cloth folded so as to prevent the cloth from spreading in a folding umbrella simply by attaching a single fastening band to the cloth. SOLUTION: In the folding umbrella 1, the fastening band 5 is formed by fixing one latching ring 7a and the other latching ring 7b, larger than a pore 3 provided in the cloth 2 of the folding umbrella to both sides of a cloth strip 6 and providing one latching tool 8a latching onto the other latching ring 7b in the middle slightly away from the one latching ring 7a of the surface of the cloth strip 6 and the other latching tool 8b latching onto the other latching ring 7a close to the other latching ring 7b on the rear side of the fabric strip 6 and is slidably inserted into the pore 3.
