<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting cancer by using an oncogene, to provide a method for screening a compound having an effect of treating and/or preventing the cancer, and to provide a pharmaceutical composition for treating and/or preventing the cancer. <P>SOLUTION: This method for detecting the cancer comprises using expression of a human oculospanin gene as an indicator.
