PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoreceptor which has high durability, suppresses image degradation due to rise of residual potential and image blurring, and stably yields images of high image quality even after long-term repeated use, and to provide a coating liquid for a top surface layer of the photoreceptor very excellent in storage stability, a method for manufacturing the photoreceptor using the coating liquid, an image forming method using the photoreceptor, an image forming apparatus, and a process cartridge for the apparatus. SOLUTION: The photoreceptor is an electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising a photosensitive layer formed on a conductive support and containing a filler in a layer of the photosensitive layer remotest from the conductive support, and a top surface layer of the photoreceptor contains at least an organic compound having an acid number of 10-700 (mgKOH/g) and at least one selected from compounds represented by formula (1) and compounds represented by formula (2). Image blurring liable to occur due to the above photoreceptor is avoided by using a high insulation filler as the above filler. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
