By inputting a CK signal into an input portion of an inverter via a capacitive means while setting the input portion of the inverter at the threshold potential of the inverter, the CK signal is amplified and this amplified CK signal is used for a shift resistor. By being set at the threshold potential of the inverter, the shift resistor is hardly affected by variations in the characteristics of transistors.
