Harvard-architecture microcomputer operating system upgrading method, whereby a new operating system is copied to an additional program memory via a buffer memory, while the system operates under the original operating system
摘要
Method for upgrading the operating system of a microcomputer circuit with a Harvard architecture, i.e. separate data and program memory with an overlapping address rage with separate control signals for each memory range. According to the method a new operating system is copied to a second program memory (13) while the system is running using the original operating system stored in a first program memory (12). The new operating system is copied from a network (20) via a buffer memory (15).
