PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose a pressure regulator for cutting off a channel by seating a valve instantly when some sort of abnormality occurs in equipment. SOLUTION: The pressure regulator comprises: a diaphragm that is constantly pressed by a spring and adjusts pressure by secondary pressure; a valve rod apparatus that is elevated in linking with the diaphragm; a valve element that is provided at the tip side of the valve rod apparatus; and a bottom spring for energizing the valve element constantly in a push-up direction. The valve rod apparatus comprises: a valve rod that has the valve element at a tip side and a valve rod having a peripheral groove at the opposite side; a socket that accommodates the valve rod so that it can be taken in and out freely and is fixed to the diaphragm; a cylindrical stop collar that is slidably provided to an axial direction outside the socket while an inner periphery has large-diameter and small-diameter sections depending on a step; and a ball that is provided at the lower periphery of the socket, can be fitted to the peripheral groove corresponding to a small-diameter section in the stop collar, and allows the fitting to be released corresponding to the large-diameter section.
