PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve near-side parallel side, far-side parallel side, near-side oblique, far-side oblique and two parallel edge sticks, and a saddle stitch on a given position by using a pair of split type staplers. SOLUTION: In a paper processor, a stitcher section 118 and a clincher section 118A are separately configured to make binding by using staples. The processor comprises mobile bases 201, 203 for synchronously moving the stitcher section 118 and the clincher section 118A in parallel orthogonally to a paper feed direction; spiral shafts 215, 216 and a mobile base drive motor 213 for moving these mobile bases 201, 203; rotary bases 221, 222 rotatably-supported on a same shaft with the mobile bases 201, 203; and spiral shafts 208, 207 and a rotary base drive motor 223 for synchronously rotating the rotary bases 221, 222. Thus it achieves a parallel stitch or an oblique stitch in its desired position based on the difference in moving distances or moving speeds of the mobile bases 201, 203 and the rotary bases 221, 222.
